About the position
Driven by the challenge to make an impact within purchasing, advising sales, marketing and RD&I to ensure an uninterrupted and timely supply at optimum cost?
To our regional procurement function in Europe we are looking for a Buyer with placement in Malmö, Sweden or Hilden, Germany.
As a buyer you will be a part of the business unit of Wood Coatings (SMU). You will be managing and ensuring the purchasing function for materials, services and/or equipment for the SMU in the region, following policies and guidelines established by the centralized procurement function within AkzoNobel. An important part of the work is to manage and support internal stakeholders and customers such as Sales, Marketing, RD&I and the centralized procurement function within AkzoNobel (ANS).
In this role you must be able to initiate and lead implementation of synergy-, cost saving -and risk reduction programs related to the supply of raw materials and services, processes and systems. You will be directly responsible for SMU specific spend and a related supplier base.
Travels within Europe can be expected.
Job requirements
To be successful in this position you will need at least 5 years of working experience from a procurement role or have a master in engineering and/or economics. You must be able to communicate in English on a professional level, written as spoken. Excellent skills within the Office Package and Excel are required, experience from the Chemical Industry is an advantage.
As a person we expect you to be flexible, able to drive changes and take the overall ownership within the scope of procurement. You have a strong drive to develop and challenge the business. You are communicative, able to work cross functional with a high engagement and with a service minded approach.
