Overview
Global Operational Services (GOPS) at Essity deliver sustainable business value to whole company and its customers by driving group wide operational efficiencies through end-to-end services and solutions. The organization includes units such as Global Sourcing, Supply Chain, Global Business Services, IT Strategy & Business Technology, and IT Services with over 2,000 employees present in 44 countries.
In this context, the Global Sourcing function is to be recognized as the driver for best total cost for the company. Operational Sourcing, within Global Sourcing, takes control of and drives down total costs by managing a sustainable and competitive supply base utilizing appropriate sourcing strategies, processes, tools, and resources which support the needs of the business. As part of the new Global Sourcing organization, Operational sourcing is responsible for managing spend and driving synergies across Essity and ensuring policy compliance.
About the role
Essity is looking for an Operational Sourcing Buyer with indirect sourcing experience to join our global team. Located in the Gothenburg office and reporting directly to the Indirect Sourcing manager, the role will be responsible for supporting stakeholders across Europe and the Americas.
In the Sourcing department you will have a central function in the company with many contacts, both internally and externally. A structured way of working and a professional business manner is paramount for the role. Your workplace is fast pace with focus on technology driven change management. It will therefore be an advantage if you enjoy working in such environment and are a tech savvy person.
The daily work for a buyer in operational sourcing at Essity is not only diverse but also exciting. You will work with e-Sourcing tools, purchase orders, contract- and supplier relationship management (SRM) and maintain good relations with the internal stakeholders. You will drive usage of digital tools and source new suppliers but also improve current processes and renegotiate current framework agreements within a wide range of categories.
The role also includes:
Meeting high expectations in delivering total cost savings and cost avoidance.
Executing the tactical sourcing primarily indirect materials and services (IT, Facility Management, Advertising & Promotion, R&D services).
Spend- and market analysis.
Ensuring compliance with Essity processes.
Recommending and managing supplier tenders and design to cost opportunities for spend categories.
Supporting development and implementation of supply stream (category) strategies for sourcing of goods and services.
Acting as project leader in sourcing projects that may include both specialists and various stakeholders.
Who you are

You are highly analytical and enjoy deep diving into detail, yet you have a strong ability to understand relationships as well as build and keep the big picture in mind.
What you need
University degree within relevant field (Business, Economics, Supply Chain etc.).
At least 2-4 years of experience in procurement with demonstrated sourcing competence.
Experience from indirect materials & services.
Experience using e-Sourcing toolbox.
Ability to work collaboratively in a complex, global, matrix organization.
Structured way of working even under pressure and a strive to always exceed stakeholder- and customer expectations.
Strong analytical mindset.
Good ability to read and understand contractual terms and conditions.
Excellent communication skills in English (written and spoken).
Experience of change management and ability to drive change successfully.
Solid knowledge of Microsoft office palette in general and advanced Excel skills.
Capabilities to lead projects with multiple stakeholders.
