The purchasing department at Volvo Car Corporation is divided between purchase of production material and purchase of non-production material (FM&SP).
FM&SP is responsible for the purchase of all indirect material.
Each buyer assistant is an administrative support to the commodity buyers in areas of updating pricelists, contracts/catalogues updates and investigating/resolving supplier payment issues. The buyer assistant will also purchase low value material and services within defined commodities, based on approved commodity strategies
We are now looking for a BUYER ASSISTANT, to be based in Gothenburg as a temporary hire 2008-05-12 to 2009-04-01.
Main Tasks:
Resolve invoice queries and supplier payment issues
Maintain blanket orders, catalogues and contracts incl necessary updates
Approve/reject all provisional pricing changes ( based on order
Support commodity buyer in market tests ("deep dive analysis parts lists")
Supply base and commodity administration incl GSDB updates
Administration work (e.g. transactions, updating price files, reporting of performance)
Perform Supplier financial analysis reports (D&B)
Support scorecard reporting
For specified commodity:
Place orders for low value in defined commodity within an approved commodity strategy.
Important qualifications and characteristic:
Upper secondary school leaving certificate, technical or economic education is an advantage.
Good business sense in combination with an administrative background
Knowledge and competence of administrative support
Analytical skills ability to create and structure analyses, i.e. spend data, market tests and supplier performance.
Skills to manage own work as well as an ability to work actively in a team.
Social skills in order to create good relations.
Ability to prioritize and deliver in a timely manner.
Driven, flexible and problem-solving personality.
High integrity
Very good communication skills, both in writing and verbally. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
Fluent in written and spoken English and Swedish.
