As a Buyer for Aftermarket you are responsible for a set portfolio of suppliers and sub-commodities for a specific region. You will collaborate with key stakeholders (internal & external) in order to meet customer expectations while supporting various operational targets and strategic objectives. A strong focus is on availability and cost in a true cross-functional and multi-cultural working environment. Through the defined objectives within the global Aftermarket Purchasing Strategy there will be a strong support to the overall Volvo Construction Equipment strategic direction.
Main Tasks / Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute sourcing strategies for regional sub-commodities and unique aftermarket suppliers
• Support global/regional sub-commodity sourcing strategies for common (shared) suppliers
• Support and execute Volvo Purchasing processes for supplier evaluation, selection, development and monitoring
• Continuously improve the supply chain and build relationships with preferred/key suppliers
• Initiate RFQ 's, analyze and negotiate prices and award and administer contracts with suppliers
• Secure cross-functional cooperation between aftermarket purchasing and all internal stakeholders e.g. Technology, Procurement, Commodity groups, Customer Solution etc.
• Actively support continuous improvement efforts within the organization
• Work according to Volvo 's policies/procedures and support the Volvo Core values
• Occasional travels required

Education/Professional Skills and Qualifications:
• Colleague/University Diploma or equivalent practical experience (3-5 years within Purchasing and/or Supply Chain Management)
• Strong Leadership skills and the ability to develop strong working relationships in a multicultural environment
• Strong communication skills
• Fluent in English language, both written and verbal (good skills in Swedish language will facilitate the day-to-day office work). Skills in French language and/or German language is seen as an extra bonus.
• Team player with good skills for collaboration but also with the ability to take ownership and be the driver for certain tasks
• Must be able to represent Volvo professionally and effectively in dealings with external parties (e.g. suppliers)
• Energetic and entrepreneurial personality with a high degree of customer orientation/customer focus
• Proficient in Microsoft Office software applications. Good knowledge in SAP and BEAT applications is appreciated.
• Good knowledge of understanding and reading drawings is appreciated.
