We are looking for an experienced and passionate Buyer to join our dynamic team and make a significant impact on our category growth.
Role Overview
As a Buyer at Babyshop, you will play a key role in shaping the success of our product assortment and category performance. Reporting directly to the Chief Purchasing Officer (CPO), you will be responsible for managing and driving the success of key product segments with our external brand categories.
Key Responsibilities
• Ownership & Strategy: Take full ownership of a key segment, contributing to overall business success. Define assortment strategies and brand mix to align with customer demand and business objectives.
• Budget & KPIs: Ensure that sales, profitability, and inventory KPIs are met or exceeded for your segment. Monitor and manage profitability, margin, and turnover across your assigned categories.
• Supplier Relationships & Negotiations: Lead negotiations with suppliers on allowances, purchase terms, and other commercial agreements. Cultivate strong, long-term partnerships with suppliers to secure the best deals for Babyshop.
• Pricing & Market Positioning: Contribute to the pricing strategy for your category, ensuring competitive and profitable pricing structures while maximizing the value of Babyshop's platforms.
• Collaboration: Work closely with the Marketing team to ensure that seasonal campaigns, launches, and product drops happen on schedule. Partner with the Quality team to ensure that products meet high standards and comply with all certifications.
• Operational Efficiency: Ensure smooth product launches by coordinating purchase orders and providing accurate article information. Collaborate with the Buying Operations Assistant and Warehouse team to resolve any delivery challenges.
• Market & Trend Awareness: Stay updated on market trends, conduct competitor analyses, and attend vendor meetings to ensure optimal product sourcing and selection that aligns with Babyshop's strategy.
Key Requirements
• 5+ years of buying experience, with proven responsibility for product mix, budget management, and profitability in a retail or e-commerce context.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Strong Excel skills and a high proficiency in data analysis to inform decision-making and drive results.
• Fluent in English and Swedish, both written and spoken.
• Extensive experience in fashion, retail, or e-commerce buying, with strong negotiation skills and the ability to drive supplier performance.
• A proven track record in executing strategies that support business success and profitability.
• Excellent at cross-functional collaboration, with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse teams to achieve goals.
