GTT Aftermarket Purchasing is seeking a Buyer (Sourcing / Operation ) for a position in the European Division.
Position content and reporting relationships
As a Continental Buyer - Purchase for the Volvo Group brands in accordance with the defined strategies. Optimize the total cost and ensure that quality and on-time delivery are secured. Contribute to the development of segment strategies and assure a coordinated sourcing approach for the segment across the continental GTT Aftermarket Purchasing organization.
Reports hierarchically to the Department Continental Purchasing Manager.
Reports functionally to the GCM- Global Commodity Manager
Specific responsibilities:
Responsible for a purchasing portfolio of components
Support product development and product modifications in the portfolio
Perform the activities required for the portfolio: negotiations, optimize the total cost (Quality, logistics, manufacturing, etc.), purchasing requisitions, tooling investment
Search for opportunities to improve the items cost and take action to implement them
As delegated by the GCM- Global Commodity Manager:
Develop expertise on his/her segment (market, suppliers, competition, technologies, projects...)
Supplier host for key global suppliers
Gather Aftermarket business inputs from the Volvo Group brands for his/her segments
Contribute to segment strategies development
Manage the working relationships with the segment supply base: solve quality, delivery, cost problems
Run sourcing activities and select suppliers
Provide support to other aftermarket functional areas
Work in accordance with the GTT Purchasing processes, the Volvo Way, and the GTT Purchasing values
Education or experience required:
University degree in Business, Engineering or related field (extensive experience and strong performance can substitute for lack of a diploma)
3 years purchasing experience
Fluent in English
Skills required:
