For our client Volvo Cars, we are looking for a buyer to Purchasing Outbound Logistics.
This is a 5,5-month consulting assignment where you will be employed through us at Wrknest and work at Volvo Cars. You have the chance of being employed by Volvo Cars after the consulting assignment.

Volvo Cars is now looking for an experienced buyer/"sourcing specialist" to join the Global Category Team in Purchasing Outbound Logistics. The team responsibility covers the purchasing of finished vehicle transportation by Road, Rail & Ocean as well as other Logistics services. In the team, you will work in close cooperation with colleagues, internal stakeholders and external suppliers to secure delivery of the brand new cars - to the right cost, quality and service. Experience of complex sourcing projects and tenders is needed, and the candidate must be independent and hence be able to run projects from start to finish by his/her own.
This buyer role is connected closely to the road segment but there will most likely be opportunities to work also within the other transportation modes within Outbound Logistics.
You will report to Team Manager Logistics EMEA - and the company is looking forward to extending the team with yet another skilled and experienced buyer who enjoy working in a dynamic global environment.
Your key tasks
• You will maximize Volvo Cars total value of ownership for your assigned commodity.
• You will support the development of sourcing strategy and plan for your assigned commodity
• You will create and maintain commercial relations with suppliers and stakeholders.
• You will lead/support cross-functional sourcing projects including activities of; preparation, execution, analysis, negotiation, supplier selection and contract signing.
• You will work towards individual & team targets and perform administrative tasks related to the job.
Do you fit the profile?
• You have a university degree or equivalent experience.
• You have minimum 3 years of experience from a relevant Purchasing role and above listed sourcing activities.
• You are fluent in English, written and spoken.
• Experience from logistics, project management or the automotive industry is meritorious.
On a personal level
• To be successful in the role you need to have a business mind-set, be target oriented, performance driven and taking commercial responsibility for assigned commodity.
• Your curious and analytical set of mind enables you to challenge the existing setup.
• You enjoy working co-operatively in teams as well as independently driving and completing tasks.
• You need to be structured to manage complex sourcing projects and the many interfaces connected with this role.
• You are confident to act in an international environment.
