RISE Measurement Science and Technology's role in Sweden is to provide traceable measurements to underpin quality assured measurements. We are appointed as National Laboratory for physical quantities. Our work aims at supporting Sweden's competitiveness through traceable calibrations and strong competence in matters related to measurement techniques.
Your role in our high-voltage group
Our team is well established on the international scene and has a decisive influence in our main fields of high-voltage and power & energy. The group consists of more than 15 engineers and academic researchers with deep specialisations in our area. Starting from quantum realisations of DC voltage and resistance, we develop measurement techniques for application in industry, both for traditional needs but also for emerging needs in new areas. An example of a new area is battery applications in mobility industry, where we are developing new solutions to test needs.
Your main task is to stimulate research within the high-voltage group. You like to take responsibility for the whole process from proposals to performing research. You will partake in national and international networks where you build relations, build platforms and create strategies for cooperation with other NMI:s (National Metrology Institutes), Standardisation groups and Cigré (Pre-normative expert groups), universities and research departments of our clients . For your support you will find an infrastructure based on the wide competences of your colleagues, as well as the width and breadth of neighbouring departments at RISE.
How do you become successful in this role?
We believe that you have a graduate degree in experimental physics, electrotechnology or a related field. We think that you have excellent skills in communication and you like to cooperate with others. You are curious and in so you have the ability to quickly fathom new or nearby technical areas. You are an enthusiastic person and you like to inspire people around you and finally we think you really like challenges. The position we offer provides great opportunities for you to develop professionally and to participate in our development of new services and methods. You are proficient in English, both in writing and orally. Swedish is not mandatory; we will help with Swedish education if needed.
Your location will be in Borås and you report to the manager of the group.
