hela Sverige Scania Trucks has just about finished launching a new truck generation globally and we are now focusing on the next big opportunity, creating sustainable transport solutions for a world that is turning digital, connected, autonomous and electrified. Our current Business Development Manager within Product management is taking up a new position within Scania and we are now looking for his successor.
Product management centres on understanding customer needs and the competitive landscape in order to improve the offering to our customers and thereby increasing our volumes and margins. Our Business Development Manager is responsible for co-ordinating our internal improvement work processes and for managing strategic, cross-departmental and -functional projects. The goal, short term as well as long term, is to maintain and increase Scania's ability to offer solutions that provide customers with the best total operating economy since we must not only have the best products but also the sharpest and most relevant business orientation and the processes for implementing it.
You will be part of the departments Management team and a crucial resource for the whole Scania Trucks organisation (which is part of Scania's Sales and Marketing department). Being familiar with Scania is a plus, but not a demand since experience from qualified business development from other companies would be considered as a strong merit. Your most important trait would be a solid commercial interest and an ambition to create value for both Scania and our customers. You also need to be flexible and appreciate a mixture of hands-on tasks while also working with analytical issues and long-term business strategies.
The Business Development Manager primarily reports to the Head of Product Management but the role will take you to many different environments, internally as well as externally, and not the least to international arenas. You must be able to master English in a fluent way, Swedish is not required. It goes without saying that you also need to be a skilled networker and team player.
This position demands a strong personal drive since neither the content nor the output can be defined in detail in beforehand. You will work on many different levels and add value in a consolidated way; if you fail with a task, things will most likely go on like before, but every time you succeed, you will make a huge difference and make Scania even sharper. Scania is a de-centralized organisation with global reach, an understanding for how different cultures works will definitely be of help for you.
