Background: DOWELL-STUBBS GROUP AB, an international, Stockholm-based communications firm is looking for a new member of staff. The DS Group is looking to develop rapidly in the Chinese market and this business development and client facing role will be a key role reporting to the CEO of the company. Most of our clients market their products and services in mainland China, Hong Kong and the far east. DS Group has a growing need for a Chinese Business Development Director as a result. This role will work to build and manage the Chinese communication needs for our existing Swedish and European clients as well as drive new business and secure new clients within the Chinese market and that have Scandinavian and European business interests and needs.

Job Description: Business areas of focus include healthcare, medical device, biotechnology, telecoms, finance, industry and destination/place branding. Responsibilities include seeking out new business opportunities for the organisation, mainly in the above mentioned business areas, as well as developing, coordinating and implementing plans designed to increase existing business and capture new opportunities. Developing proposals in response to requests for proposals (RFPs) is another important aspect of responsibilities for this role. Once new business has been secured, the business development director will work closely with other staff and Account Directors to coordinate account start-up, audit, strategy and execution of any client needs.

Additional responsibilities for the Business Development, China role include: preparing and delivering presentations and RFPs; conducting and hosting seminars on new trends and the supporting technologies; organizing, leading and participating in meetings with clients, external vendors or advisors; developing global strategies; managing execution of communications plans through the DS Group team members and sub-suppliers; overseeing delivery, quality and measuring and reporting success; as well as learning and working in a company cloud-based systems.

Qualifications:
• The candidate must be fluent in at least English and Chinese and have experience in China, Europe and the US
• The candidate must have a business degree from an internationally recognized business school, and preferably this degree was taken in English
• Strategic and structured analysis ability with strong proven track record in account management, project management and business development
• Excellent leadership skills with the proven ability to inspire and motivate - First class communication, presentation and negotiation skills
• The candidate must have a visa to be able to travel in/out of the US for business.

Skills and Experience Required:
The candidate will have established links in China, ideally Shanghai, Bejing and / or Hong Kong, and have worked in the marketing communications area for at least ten years. Experience in Inbound and Content Marketing is also an advantage. The ability to work through the cloud with remote teams located around the world is also critical, as well as working with cloud based tools.

Additional skills and qualities that are needed for this role: Networking, persuasion, prospecting, public speaking, ability to run market research and internal (client) audits, writing (Chinese and English), closing skills, motivation for sales, prospecting skills, sales planning, identification of customer needs and challenges, ability to understand the customers market, territory management, meeting sales goals and a solid understanding of CRM. (E.commerce experience is also useful). We are seeking a senior individual, an outgoing and dynamic person who presents themselves, their work and their company brand well. A fast thinker, a strategist who is also willing to be 'hands on' with execution needs when needed. A leader who is also a very strong team person. A calm, yet energetic individual. A person who can manage tough work-loads, long hours when needed and is willing to travel. An individual who is interested in solving problems and thrives on variation in daily work, in clients and in client needs. This position will report to the CEO of DS Group
