The Business Development and Market Intelligence Director supports the Head of Strategy & Business Development in executing the company's strategic agenda by running the strategic planning cycle, coordinating strategic initiative governance, and ensuring clear alignment across markets and functions. The role identifies and scopes business opportunities that fit within the approved strategy, grounded in market, competitive, and consumer data.
The position also coordinates closely with the Market Intelligence function - ensuring that market reports, category dashboards, competitive analyses, and data insights are generated on time, consolidated, and effectively leveraged to inform strategic choices, opportunity assessments, and leadership decision-making.
The role acts as the key integrator between strategy, business development, and market insights, translating data into actionable recommendations and enabling cross-functional execution. The geographical scope includes Europe and MEA regions.
As BD and BMI Director, you will be part of an international Business Development Team and report to the Head of Strategy & Business Development BA EA.
What you'll do:
In this role, you will support driving the strategic planning cycle and coordinate the governance of key strategic initiatives. You will identify and scope growth opportunities that align with the approved strategy, grounded in robust market, competitive, and consumer insights. You will partner closely with the Market Intelligence function to translate data and reports into clear, actionable recommendations for leadership.
Main Responsibilities:
Support the Head of Strategy & Business Development in translating strategy into actionable initiative roadmaps and running initiative governance.
Coordinate cross-functional working sessions, track initiative progress, and deliver clear dashboards, KPIs, and decision-ready updates.
Support in driving the strategic planning cycle, managing inputs, templates, and review cadence, and consolidate market, business, and competitive insights into strategy materials.
Prepare analyses, scenarios, and option evaluations, ensuring alignment between long-term strategy, annual plans, and functional submissions.
Identify and scope strategic opportunities grounded in data, conducting early feasibility checks and sizing value pools using market datasets.
Work with Finance and cross-functional teams to validate business case assumptions and feasibility.
Coordinate the Business & Market Intelligence function, leveraging GfK and other data sources to deliver market share tracking, KPIs, and actionable insights.
Improve reporting, dashboards, and BI tools to strengthen decision-making.
Provide clear, data-driven recommendations to senior leadership.
Lead and mentor three Business & Market Intelligence managers across Europe and MEA.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Strong analytical skills and with expertise in data visualization
Excellent communication and presentation skills / storytelling.
Experience managing teams & working in a cross-functional environment.
Excellent stakeholder management skills
University degree in Business, Economics, Data Science, or a related field with 8+ years experience in market intelligence, data analysis, or a related field, preferably within consumer goods industry
Knowledge of GfK data sources and methodologies is a plus
Required Languages: English
