hela Sverige We are looking for a motivated and energetic individual to join our growing team as a Business Developer.
ESL Shipping Ltd is a leading carrier of dry bulk cargoes in the Baltic region. In Sweden the Group is represented by its subsidiary AtoB@C Shipping with the national Head office in Ystad. ESL Shipping's competitive edge is based on its ability to responsibly secure product and raw material transportation for industries and energy production all year around, even in difficult weather conditions. Need for Green shipments is growing fast in Baltic Sea and ESL Shipping is in forefront investing in new energy efficient capacity and fuel solutions to secure leadership in this front. ESL Shipping Ltd has been in business for over 70 years and is a subsidiary of Aspo Plc. The combined fleet of ESL Shipping and AtoB@C Shipping consists of around 40 vessels with cargo capacity ranging from 4,000 to 56,000 dwt.
In this role, you will play a crucial part in supporting ESL's business development initiatives and contribute to the company's growth. The position offers a unique opportunity to engage in diverse tasks, from commercial, financial and operational analysis to strategic projects and execution support. You will be part of our development organization, and work in close cooperation with our Management team. You will report to our BU Director & Strategic Development Director, Timo Pohjakallio and your workplace can be either Ystad, Sweden, or Helsinki, Finland, depending on your preferences.
Main Responsibilities
* Conduct comprehensive strategic, commercial, financial and operational analyses. Provide actionable insights and play role in execution of identified development initiatives e.g.,
* Strategic themes: Investment preparations, Business model adjustments
* Commercial themes: Pricing approach, Customer and Competitor analyses
* Operational themes: Waiting times, Ballast analyses, Fleet utilization
* Financial themes: Long term planning models, Debt/Equity planning
* Elevate ESL business development through impactful and insightful analytical work.
* Transform findings into clear and compelling communication material for e.g., Management team, Board and external audiences
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement recommendations.
* Play hands-on role in executing business development initiatives.
Key qualifications
* Master's degree in Business, Finance, or a related field. Bachelor's degree with strong experience also considered.
* Proven experience in business development and analytical roles, e.g., Management consulting, investment banking or corporate analyst/business planning role.
* Shipping experience is an advantage, but not necessary.
* Strong analytical skills with a focus on delivering "so what" -focused insights.
* Familiarity with financial analysis, strategic planning, and market intelligence.
* Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex analyses in a clear and concise manner.
* Ability to self-motivate and drive projects forward independently.
* Business interest and curiosity.
* Collaborative team player.
* Proficiency in relevant tools and software for data analysis and presentation.
