We matchmake and facilitate collaboration between corporates and startups.

Startups are constantly innovating, breaking boundaries and finding new solutions to existing and future problems but are eagerly looking for clients, deals and partnerships.

Corporates on the other hand, while having a strong base, brand, experience and resources within their established industry area, are constantly seeking innovative solutions to disrupt themselves.

So, at Ignite, our mission is to help them to find each other.

What have we accomplished?

The need, interest and value for startup<->corporate collaboration is incredibly high. We started on April 2017 and as we enter our 20th month, we have the hit the following numbers.

Total Meetings booked: 1600
Startups engaged: 290
Corporates: 50
Matchmaking events: 22
Ongoing processes: 400+
Commercial collaborations: 45+

Who are we looking for?

Ignite started as a pilot project last year and now following our success, we are establishing ourselves into a stable and scalable organization providing quality and consistent collaboration between corporates and startups. We are currently operating across Sweden and pretty soon we will be expanding internationally.

So, we are looking for a Business Developer/ Project Manager to join us in taking ownership and responsibility of the startup<->corporate matchmaking process.

Your responsibilities:

1. Interact with our corporate partners network to identify key areas of innovation needs.
2. Scout our startup network to find the most relevant cases that match the corporate needs.
3. Communicate - This part of the job requires a lot of telephone calls because once you have made a list of potential startup matches, you would have to call the founders over phone to present the potential match of their technology/service with the corporate needs. Sometimes this would be a use case or customer type that startup founders may not have intended. So, your communication and convincing skills are inevitable for the success of the role.
4. Match - walkthrough the startup with our quick deal-making preparatory training and connect them with the right corporate partner.
5. Follow up - continuously follow up with the corporates and the startups to identify possible coaching needs

The role comprises a combination of responsibilities within project management, business development and key account management.

The impact we create with every match is huge both for the startups and corporates. We have seen young companies grow multiple times their size in just one year after a successful corporate collaboration.

• 4+ years of experience within business development, preferably B2B within startup or scale-up or entrepreneurial environment.
• Experience involving strategic partnerships or acquisitions is a huge plus.
• Solid understanding of tech with fascination towards new areas like AI, BlockChain, AR/VR, etc.
• Strong communication skills in Swedish and English since the position involves intense telephonic conversations and negotiations.
• Readiness to travel. The position involves considerable traveling over the year for strategic meetings, networking and matchmaking events.
• Humble and passionate team-player who genuinely believes in our vision to support the growth of startups and corporates.

Ignite Sweden is a program aimed at catalysing commercial partnerships between small innovative startups and large companies. The project began at the start of 2017. An important part of the project is to exchange experiences about the challenges of collaboration between large companies and startups.
