Volvo Cars is a company on a mission; to bring traditional car manufacturing into a connected, sustainable and smart future.
Since 1927, we have been a brand known for our commitment to safety, creating innovative cars that make life less complicated for our consumers. In 2010, we decided to transform our business, resulting in a totally new generation of cars and technologies, as well as steady growth and record sales. Today, we're expanding our global footprint in Europe, China and the US, and we're on the lookout for new talent.
We are constantly pushing our own skills and abilities to drive change in the automobile industry like never before. We are looking for innovative, committed people to join us in this endeavour and create safe, sustainable and connected cars. We believe in the power of people and will challenge and support you to reach your full potential. Join us and be part of Volvo Cars' journey into the future.
Our Challenge
Climate change is the ultimate safety test and Volvo Cars will pioneer sustainability as we have always done with safety. We are integrating sustainability in the whole lifecycle of our vehicles and are aiming at becoming both climate neutral and a circular business by 2040. To meet these rising sustainability goals, we need to strengthen our team.
We are an engaged and committed team working with agile principles within ART Battery Lifecycle Services. Do you thrive from driving change and have solid knowledge in circular economy? Then the role as Business Developer Sustainability & Circularity is the place for you. You will get to know the whole company and have the opportunity to make a real impact on us reaching our 2040 aim.
What you'll do
You will implement Volvo Cars circular economy strategy into how our batteries are handled after the sale of the vehicles. You will create a roadmap from a circular economy point of view to ensure that our batteries are in line with the principles of remanufacturing, refurbishment, repair, and reuse and can be recycled without value-loss.
You will need to set requirements and develop methods on how to follow up upon them. You will collaborate with a lot of different internal stakeholders and drive change towards circular business.
Competence is important
You have a senior experience in improving the circularity of consumer products in a large manufacturing company. You understand the complexity of sustainability challenges and the value chain we operate in. You can break down the strategic high-level targets into requirements at the attribute level and drive their smooth implementation. You understand how our design process and choices affect the sustainability of our products and are familiar with creating and analyzing Life Cycle Assessment (LCA).
Experience from sustainable waste management or after-market will be highly appreciated. You have good communication skills in spoken and written English.
Personality is key
You are structured, solutions-oriented and can take the lead. You find it easy to involve a large group of stakeholders of different backgrounds. You are also a true team player with a pragmatic and holistic view. You have the drive to deliver, enjoy interacting with people and understand that collaboration will be key to make a real impact. You are a passionate change-maker.
