hela Sverige Volvo Cars Manufacturing (VCM) - a business unit within VCC - has the full strategic and operational responsibility to manufacture and deliver all VCC vehicles worldwide.
The Outbound Logistics function is to ensure a global strategic approach on outbound logistics by integrating strategy, network design, procurement, performance management and operational development to ensure that factory complete cars are delivered to dealers on time at minimum cost and according to specifications in line with market requirements and VCC strategy.
The role Business Controller is located within the Performance Management and Operational Development function within the Outbound Logistics organization and will report directly to the Head of Performance Management and Operational Development. Location is VCC Gothenburg
Purpose:
The purpose of the Business Controller role is to create performance transparency related to Outbound Logistics by ensuring that relevant performance metrics are tracked and that performance gaps are identified and acted upon.
Main Tasks:
Main tasks for the Business controller are to;
Gather and interpret relevant internal and provider data (e.g. cost, delivery precision, lead times etc.) to identify gaps to performance targets and other issues
Estimate impact and economic potential of performance gaps and issues identified
Investigate identified issues to understand root cause and communicate issues to relevant parties (e.g. Procurement, Operational Development)
Track and follow up on improvement activities initiated in Operational Development
Develop periodic performance reports and distributes them to stakeholders
Provide analytical support for process improvements, projects, proposals and new business opportunities
Oversee reverse billing process to ensure that external providers are being paid according to contract (where applicable)
Provide updated information regarding transport costs to relevant stakeholders within VCC to ensure that transport price charged to dealers are updated according to pricing strategy
Identify and communicate IT related improvement and suggestions to the IT function within Outbound Logistics (e.g. proposed changes in automated system reports)
Responsibility:
The Business controller is responsible to ensure that;
Performance within the Outbound Logistics function is correctly and continuously tracked and interpreted
Relevant stakeholders are informed of findings from performance tracking
External providers are being paid according to contract (where applicable)
Transport price charged to dealers are based on updated costs for transport
Competence requirements:
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration or equivalent
Experience from Operating units is an advantage
Strong quantitative and analytical skills
Broad range of computer skills (database, spreadsheet, statistics applications, and logistics software packages)
Ability to communicate findings, make recommendations, and facilitate change
Comfortable working with individuals at all organizational levels
Understands contracts and tariffs
Project management skills
