Role Summary
Are you passionate about combining finance, technology, and business to shape the future of sustainable transport? We are looking for an experienced Business Controller who wants to play a key role in supporting Battery & Charging within TRATON R&D.
In this role, you will act as a trusted Business Partner to R&D leaders, providing financial insights that support strategic decision-making and contribute to the successful development of future battery and charging solutions.
Research & Development is currently undergoing major changes in ways of working, systems, and roles - and Controlling is evolving accordingly. Operating in a global context, Controlling plays an important role as a Business partner. You will actively contribute to designing and implementing the future financial management model.
Job Responsibilities
The position includes a variety of ongoing responsibilities within finance and Controlling, such as:
Financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
Support decision-making through financial analysis, business cases, and scenario assessments.
KPI follow-up, reporting, and presentations.
Contribute to the development of future Controlling processes, methods, and tools across TRATON R&D.
You will report to the Head of R&D Controlling Battery & Charging and serve as a trusted Business Partner to R&D leaders, contributing to strategic decision-making, financial steering, and business performance as an active member of global management teams.
You will work across networks and leadership teams and maintain regular contact with TRATON R&D and other Controlling functions.
Who You Are
To be successful in this role, you have:
Master's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
At least 3-5 years of experience in Business Controlling
An interest in electrification, battery technologies, and the transformation of the commercial vehicle industry, with a desire to contribute to TRATON's sustainable transport solutions.
Proven ability to translate financial data into actionable insights and drive business performance in a structured and analytical way.
Experience partnering with senior stakeholders and management teams in a complex and international environment.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trust and influence decisions across both finance and operational functions.
Excellent analytical and digital capabilities, including advanced skills in Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint. Experience with SAP is considered a strong advantage.
High integrity, curiosity, and an interest in understanding products, technology, operations, and the key business drivers behind successful R&D organizations.
A collaborative mindset and the ability to create value through teamwork, networking, and cross-functional cooperation.
Professional fluency in English is required; fluency in Swedish is beneficial.

The core team consists of two Business Controllers and the manager. We work closely together and support the Battery & Charging organization throughout strategic and operational decision-making. As part of the team, you will interact daily with engineering leaders, project managers, and finance colleagues across TRATON R&D, giving you a broad network and excellent opportunities for professional development.
