We are seeking a Business Analyst for the recently formed Analytics team. The Analytics team is responsible for Fraud analysis and Business Intelligence within Ongame. We analyse the data produced by the poker systems and generate business reports, provide decision support, and search for improvements to our fraud detection and prevention systems.
Your place at the table
As a Business Analyst you will be responsible for formulating and prototyping new business reports. You will be responsible for maintaining and extending our BI Glossary. You will make ad hoc analyses of our data to support business decisions and partners. You will work together with representatives from Technology/Core to setup a data centre and automated business reporting systems. You will be expected to gain insights from analysis that will lead you to come up with ideas for new business drivers and to make improvements on existing ones. You will have a large degree of freedom in selecting your methods and tools.
Your gaming skills and experience
You probably have a quantitative or statistics background. A Master Science in engineering is preferred, but you could also have a Business economic background with documented interest/hands on experience in mathematics and technology.
We expect you have a very good understanding of poker in general and from a B2B perspective in particular. You are experienced in statistical modelling, are confident in working with databases (we use MySQL), and know your way around Excel and pivot tables. You feel at home when you see a Linux prompt and have solved tasks using some scripting language. In short you are a renaissance artist in the making. Any experience with automated data mining or AI methods is highly desirable.
Player profile
You are inquisitive, curious and dedicated. You are comfortable with explaining complex matters either in detail or at a higher level. You are able to produce high quality results on your own while maintaining the ability to work well within the team.
