Development Services and Infrastructure (DSI) Simulators is responsible for providing test tools to the Product Development Units (PDUs). Ericsson is crafting the 5G future, and we are making it possible!
We are now looking for a Principal Developer that shall be our lead developer for software implementation of simulation products. The Principal Developer shall have the ability to translate the verification needs for the Radio Access Network (RAN) products into simulation product solutions, utilizing best practices from university and industry. The position is based in Sweden.
We are primarily working together in teams spread internationally on different continents, developing simulators and log analysis tools. Continuous improvement, learning, innovation and knowledge sharing are important ingredients in the daily work.
You will
Work with senior technical leaders and teams of highly qualified and driven developers, to provide 5G Simulators in accordance with the overall Ericsson strategy
Drive strategic technical Leadership as well as maintaining technical leadership by ensuring good software implementations in our products
Stay informed about ongoing development in Simulators, have impact on technology related issues and decide on software implementation solutions for simulation products
Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems
Share competence and knowledge with development teams, including mentorship, competence building and coaching of teams
Drive innovation on Development Unit level
Secure relevant IPR (Intellectual Property Rights) in the domain by filing patents
To be successful in the role you must have
A spirit of positiveness, decisiveness, and creativeness with a can-do-attitude
A forward-thinking and curious approach to be able to tackle various assignments, acting as a leader in a technical role
The social skills to cooperate closely in a diverse team of colleagues
Brilliant communication skills to act as a mentor and coach for (senior) colleagues
Proven record of success in Software Engineering and perceived as an authority in that field
Good understanding of designing Cloud (container) applications and operating in Cloud environments (Kubernetes)
Very good overall Telecom (5G RAN) competence, preferably with advanced experience and proven record in a specific area (radio control, baseband, or digital testing)
Excellent speaking and writing skills in English
MSc level in Computer Science or Software Engineering (PhD preferred)
