The Chief Engineer organisation (UPX) within Propulsion development (UP) is coordinating common propulsion projects, conventional transmissions and BEV propulsion systems, within the TRATON group and towards strategic Partners. We act as the partner's voice inside of Scania and we are the single point of contact with our partners outside of Scania. Make sure that we develop components with world-class properties for all partners, based on one global modular system.
You will
We are now looking for new colleagues that can help us grow together with new products and new partners. As a Brand Chief Engineer (BCE) you will be responsible to represent all customers for a propulsion platform. E.g. GW, CCD or eCAM. A responsibility that starts already in the concept phase and that goes on to the market introduction. You will translate the partner's needs to technical product targets in the project and have a key role in balancing the product properties between the brands, Scania included.
You will lead and coordinate the implementation of new products at our partner brands and continuously follow up on the progress and secure that the product has the right maturity level at all partner deliveries. Another critical task is to identify and act on technical challenges between the brands and be a catalyst in finding the best solution. The assignment will require you to travel and meet our partners in their different locations globally as well to host meetings in Södertälje.
New technologies and a need to develop synergies in a growing TRATON family are challenging our ways of working. You and your colleagues play an important role to drive process and system needs toward collaboration projects.
Your profile
We believe that you have a Bachelor/Master of Engineering or equal work experience. You have at least 5 years of experience from a position in product development at Scania, MAN or Navistar, or commercial experience with a deep interest in technical questions. Experience from a leading position, e.g. object/project leader, team leader or manager is meriting.
You can see things from a holistic perspective and understand the overall context of how projects/products influence your responsibility area. You know how to navigate and collaborate with different departments within Scania and seek to build trust and good relationships with your colleagues internally and externally. A strategic mindset is important and you value an international environment with lots of contacts all over the world.
As a Brand Chief Engineer you will be hosting many meetings and workshops so good communication and moderating skills will come in handy, even if you can learn some tricks from your colleagues.
You have no problems expressing yourself in English, both verbally and in writing.

Who am I as a manager?
With eleven years of Scania experience within different commercial roles from Purchasing and latest Cross Brand operations I'm now taking on my first role within R&D. I value an open atmosphere where everybody feels free to speak their mind and have an ambitious mindset where we challenge ourselves and the team to become a respected and accountable supplier within the TRATON group and other external customers.
