Want to shape the future of waterborne transport and join a world-class team?
Candela is the global leader in electric hydrofoil vessels. Since 2014, we've gone from building our first premium electric speedboat in a small Stockholm workshop to delivering game-changing vessels around the globe. The Candela P-12 is our latest innovation – the world's first electric hydrofoil ferry is not only operating in Stockholm, but is now attracting orders from around the world.
Our boats "fly" thanks to computer-guided underwater wings under the hull made out of lightweight carbon fiber. The wings lift the vessel above the water, reducing energy use by up to 80%, while offering zero emissions and a far better passenger experience than traditional diesel vessels.
And that's exactly why we do this. Our mission is clear: to speed up the transition to fossil fuel-free lakes and oceans.
You can now be part of the amazing team at Candela! We are looking for Boat Builders to support Candela's future growth ambitions.
About the role
As a Boat Builder, you will play an important hands-on role in building our electric boats. We have opportunities in two different areas of production: Assembly and Composite.
Depending on your experience and profile, you may join one of these teams:
Assembly
In the Assembly area, you will help build and install the interior of our boats. Your work will mainly involve composite parts, including measuring, cutting, shaping and assembling components according to drawings and instructions.
Composite
In the Composite area, located at the beginning of the production process, you will work with carbon fiber and other composite materials. You will prepare and mix materials and ensure they are properly prepared and placed for the molding process.
Across both areas, you will work with a variety of hand tools and power tools, and be responsible for using and maintaining them safely and efficiently. Precision, attention to detail and a strong focus on quality are essential, as your work contributes directly to the quality and performance of our vessels.
Your core responsibilities will include:
Working hands-on with the production and assembly of our electric boats
Measuring, cutting, shaping and assembling composite components
Working with carbon fiber and other composite materials
Preparing and mixing composite materials for the molding process
Assembling components according to technical drawings, instructions and specifications
Using hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently
Performing adjustments and ensuring proper fit, alignment and finish
Inspecting your work to ensure it meets quality standards and specifications
Maintaining tools, equipment and a clean and organized work environment
Documenting work according to company procedures
Following safety rules and using provided personal protective equipment (PPE)
Working in an international environment – our corporate language is English, including in production

What are we looking for?
You are a practical, detail-oriented and hands-on person who enjoys building high-quality products. You have experience working with tools and are comfortable working in a production or workshop environment.
You take pride in your work and understand the importance of precision, quality and following instructions. You are eager to learn, adaptable and enjoy working as part of a collaborative and diverse team.
Experience with composite materials is valuable, but we are also interested in candidates with a strong practical background and the right mindset who are motivated to learn.
Requirements:
Ability to communicate in English in your daily work
Experience working safely with hand tools and power tools
Ability to read and work according to technical drawings and instructions
Attention to detail and a strong focus on quality
Good physical condition and ability to work hands-on, including standing for extended periods and working in tight spaces
Willingness to work in a production environment and follow safety procedures

Meritorious (nice to have):
Experience from assembly or production work
Experience working with composite materials, carbon fiber or similar materials
Experience from the marine, automotive or other manufacturing industries
Experience with mechanical assembly or installation
Experience working with technical drawings
Experience from a workshop or manufacturing environment

Form of employment: Full-time with initial 6-month probation period
Start date: ASAP
Location/base: Rotebro
Team: Assembly or Composite
Reporting to: Production Area Manager
