WORK TASKS
The International School of Älmhult is now looking for a PYP deputy head since our colleague is leaving for parental leave.
The role as Deputy Head (Biträdande Rektor) will mainly include the following tasks:
• Be part of the leadership team and collaborate foremost with the PYP coordinator
• Manage and lead the PYP team and the Fritids Team
• Work with the school schedules
• Work with school web-site and developing other external and internal communication platforms
• Recruit and on-board new teachers
• Bridge our programs, together with our coordinators
• Drive the development of the school goals
• Collaborate with the Student Welfare Team
You will be working together with a team of leaders and teachers, who would like to call themselves life-long learners and who likes to put learning at the center of everything we do. You will also come to our school at an exciting time, when we will be changing our standards and practices and developing the school to fit the 21st century learner.
The International School of Älmhult was authorised for The International Baccalaureate's Primary Years Programme in May 2003 and for The Middle Years Programme in May 2009. The school has a friendly atmosphere, classes are small and all lessons are given in English.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for a caring and courageous leader, who takes actions to develop the school and the wider school community. A communicator, who builds networks and who is good at direct communication as well as digital communication. A strategic, analytic and goal oriented person, who is used to plan and organize school quality work. We are also looking for you who are a balanced person and works to ensure a good and healthy work environment for everyone.
The successful candidate needs to have:
• A degree in teaching
• Good knowledge of Swedish and English
• Strong leadership/management skills and experience
We also wish that the candidate has:
• Heads Education or started
• Good knowledge of Swedish working laws and how teacher contracts work
• Experience in working with a budget
• Knowledge about IB and international schools
