We are looking for a driven Bioprocess Scientist who wants to have a key role in the development of products enabling the transformation of future medicine.
The successful applicant will have a strong scientific background and proven accomplishments in upstream bioprocessing of recombinant proteins, an interest in setting up new modalities, a passion for tweaking process parameters, and have the instinct to embrace the non-familiars with curiosity. Candidates should be highly self-motivated, independent-thinking with the ability to excel in a growth culture where setting the blueprint is part of the journey.
The Bioprocess Scientist will be responsible for the upstream process development, optimization, and testing of process efficiency for protein products that will be used as growth support for stem and primary cells. The work will both encompass industry-scale process development and commercially driven product and application developments.

Your role:
Fully responsible for establishment and validation of upstream bioprocessing of new and existing products in the portfolio
Establish and evaluate protocols of primary and stem cell culture in bioreactors
Ensure quality of experimental design, troubleshoot complex technical problems, project plan and report, generate technical documentation, prepare handover to production and provide post-product launch support
Source and nurture the required internal and external collaborations to execute projects
Regularly identify and evaluate new technologies and scientific trends, identify customer needs, and monitor competitor activity
Provide in-house technical training and technical support to customers
Adhere to the Quality Management System initiatives and requirements

Required qualifications:
Holds a Ph.D. in the field of bioprocess, biotechnology, cellular biology, or related disciplines
Accountable - take responsibility and accepts ownership of problems and opportunities
Demonstrated ability to document development work clearly and to convey knowledge to and train others
Demonstrated ability for divergent thinking and propensity to question traditional methods, processes, and products, as well as build on others' ideas
Excellent English skills, written and orally
Able to work well on a solitary basis and as part of a team
Excellent troubleshooting and multi-tasking capabilities

Desired qualifications:
Experience with bioreactor-based stem or primary cell culture
Experience with different bioreactors is an appreciated merit
Industry and/or Postdoc experience
Exposure to biomanufacturing is advantageous

Location
The office is in central Sundbyberg, Stockholm, with good communications through public transportation (SL), e.g. subway, light railway, and commuter trains. There are also indoor parking opportunities available.
