You will be part of HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current), a business unit within ABB's Power Grids division located in Ludvika.?The unit develops, manufactures and sells DC transmission systems on a global market. This ABB developed HVDC technology is used to transmit electricity over long distances and for power transmission via submarine cables. HVDC is also used to connect power systems.
Tasks
This leadership role assumes the overall vision responsibility of working with stakeholders within the firm to oversee the planning, strategizing and deployment of processes technologies required for implementation of Building Information Modelling in HVDC projects. You will lead all activities for developing BIM processes, tools and competencies for delivering quality HVDC EPC projects.
Your responsibilities include:
• Developing strategy to align with the divisional BIM initiative
• Implementing HVDC wide BIM strategies to support identified goals
• Leading the development of processes, standards and standard practices to improve design/production efficiency using technology
• Reporting to management on current and projected state with respect to BIM implementation
• Ensuring consistent use of BIM across projects
• Facilitating the relationship between all design disciplines to develop processes, tools and practices which benefit the project delivery process
• Developing work processes to insure model content is useful and meaningful
• Overseeing integration of BIM and Information Technology
• Coordinating with IS on requirements and schedules for budgeting, procurement and roll-out of new and updated BIM associated software as well as identifying requirements for the development of custom applications and/or customized software
• Presenting BIM capabilities to clients
• Proposing pilot initiatives and managing them technically & financially
• Ensuring adherence to project BIM execution plans
• Managing BIM related education and development
• Managing the production of BIM marketing material
• R&D Innovative solutions to stay on cusp of technology
• Maintaining Strategic relationship with the BIM and software industries
Requirements
You have a minimum of bachelor's Degree within Civil Design or a related field, combined with leadership experience and over three years of experience in 3D Modeling. It's required that you have at least three years of experience from Revit Architecture, Revit MEP, Autocad, Autocad MEP and Navisworks, as well as 1-3 years of experience from BIM, Model and Data coordination. Construction experience is considered a plus.
On a personal level, you are a natural leader with a creative mindset, great interpersonal skills and excellent ability to resolve issues. In this role you need to be self-motivated and work effectively both independently and as part of the team. It's important that you communicate well at all levels of the organization and get your messages across in a coherent and clear way. You need to have high level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-based orientation.
Furthermore, it's essential that you have the ability to exercise sound judgment in the decision-making process. Adding your exceptional client management skills and the ability to build goodwill, you have what it takes to succeed in this position.
