The Accelerator Division is responsible for the design, construction, commissioning and operation of the ESS accelerator. The pulsed superconducting linac, to be built in Lund, will produce a 5MW average power proton beam, driving the world’s most powerful neutron source.
The Beam Diagnostics Group works alongside the other groups in the Accelerator Division, and is responsible to define, design and build the beam diagnostics systems for the ESS accelerator.

Description of main responsibilities

Previous experience with accelerators and accelerator operation, and in particular beam instrumentation or other detector electronics, as well as radiation tolerant electronics is preferred. Experience with EM simulations, signal integrity, digital electronics and signal processing would also be a plus. Excellent oral and written English skills are a prerequisite; knowledge of other European languages would be an advantage. Experience of working in an international environment is essential.
