Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions. In Battery Production we currently have a line for series production of battery packs, modules, two prototype lines for batteries and a line for the production of VCB cables. We are in the middle of a phase where we train and build competence to manufacture battery packs, modules and cabling for tomorrow's e-mobility products.

My team in production technology now needs to be strengthened with curious people who want to be part of creating this new production unit at Scania.

We are now looking for a Process Engineer who wants to join our project team with a focus on enabling Scania's electrification journey. The products are completely new for Scania and we, together with our colleagues in R&D and Purchasing, are developing a product that will be critical for Scania's fulfillment of the Science based targets to achieve a sustainable future.

Your role
As a process engineer, you are responsible for planning, coordinating and carrying out activities for new products, process changes, product changes and quality improvements. It includes developing the right manufacturing method and that the conditions exist to be able to manufacture the products at the right quality, time and cost.

Your work assignments
You will participate in the product development project where you work cross-functionally together with designers from R&D, our future internal customers within P&L, the production project's other participants and support functions.

You lead the work of defining a production process with associated quality assurance methodology. The delivery from the project is an approved PPAP where you together in the project and with your interfaces within R&D and purchasing have secured product requirements and production process.

To succeed in your role, you need to be analytical and solution-oriented.

Juliana da Silva Rodrigues, Process Engineer:

"Working as a process engineer at Scania's new battery factory has been an incredible journey with many possibilities to learn and be part of building a more sustainable future. Being in this role gives the overview of the product concept and processes details connected to production steps, technologies such as laser welding, PPAP process, logistics and IT solutions, by ensuring that the product and customer requirements will be fulfilled. Communication is important to create the link with the cross function teams and identify the risks and challenges foreseen during the battery module manufacturing."

Experience
You have a technical University education or Scania Technician as an educational background and then worked for at least 3 years as a process engineer or a similar role. Experience with Scania's production system is an advantage and we would like you to work with Design for Assembly, PPAP.

Fluency in spoken and written English is a basic requirement and Swedish is an advantage.

Your profile
The role will require you to be structured in your work to keep track of your deliveries and to be able to present status, deviations and solutions in the intended forum. To succeed and thrive with us, you need to be flexible as everyday life can be unpredictable, you are solution-focused and want to find best practice to develop the organization, and you need to be a team player because we need to have good cooperation with other colleagues in production technology, group managers and operators in production, maintenance personnel, quality engineers and R&D.

Battery production at Scania is a new unit but we have already built a strong team and help each other and continuously improve our cross-functional working methods to secure our processes. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of building a brand new factory and build competence in a new technology area that is very important for a more sustainable future in the transport industry.
