Do you have a strong interest in exploring new technologies and extensive experience in noise & vibrations?
The role as Basic Development Engineer is an exciting and wide-ranging opportunity to support Epiroc Surface Division's technological development in general, as well as in the area of noise & vibration.
Your mission
You will work operationally to obtain technology intelligence and insight in leading external and internal innovation - to support the development of technology strategy and technology roadmaps, as well as translation from roadmap to global project portfolio. This includes writing clear and objective technical reports.
You will provide expertise in noise and vibrations and independently act as Global Design Area Responsible, Noise & Vibrations. In this area you will support the development of high-quality design criteria and guidelines related to noise and vibrations globally, proposing concrete and practical solutions to minimize related negative impact.
Depending on the successful candidate's profile, this position may take on responsibility to coach and support the organization in strength calculations.
Your profile
You must have at least 3 years of practical experience working with noise & vibration, strength calculations, product development or similar. We require a Master's degree in an appropriate orientation of Engineering such as noise & vibration. We see a relevant PhD as highly advantageous, or equivalent through similar research experience combined with experience in project management. Proficiency in spoken and written English language is required.
You are expected to have a good understanding of general machine design, noise & vibration issues and measurements, FE-analysis and have knowledge in scouting for new technologies. Further, we see experience from working with products for mobile applications in demanding environments and/or previous experience working in international environments as advantageous.
You are a curious, analytical and well-organized engineer with interest in deep diving into various areas of technology, finding better solutions and learning new things. You have a passion for noise & vibrations combined with a sense for doing the right compromises in order to deliver cost-efficient industrial research.
