We are looking for a new team member to play an important role in the future development of valvetrain system components for our heavy-duty combustion engines.
Description
In our team we have responsibility for the Valvetrain system, the Front-End Auxiliary Drive (belt transmission), and the starter system.
The tasks and responsibilities include:
Design technical solutions according to given prerequisites (e.g. function, interfaces, geometry, costs, quality target and regulations) on engine vales and surrounding components.
Communicate and agree on design requirements with component suppliers.
Interact with the suppliers to plan and manage work distribution to meet needed deadlines.
Have operational responsibility for the component delivery in the relationship with the supplier.
Lead the design and verification engineering activities.
Responsible for recommending the supplier, evaluate components and select the best solution.
Integrate deliveries from others and secure quality and readiness, as well as cross-functional and business anchoring, before release.
Spread knowledge and develop competence within the team.
Personal qualifications
You have experience from working with mechanical and/or electrical components and experience from working with product development in the automotive sector.
Experience and knowledge of key systems and processes within Volvo (KOLA, Release processes, Volvo Quality Processes, QJ and JIRA, etc.) is highly valued.
Have a capacity to work individually or with a small team actively to secure the deliverables.
You are structured and well organized
You have ability to establish contacts and to collaborate effectively
You have an open attitude and can adopt to changes as they come
You feel comfortable with working on several different tasks simultaneously and can balance your work between them.
Need to be fluent in our company language that is English.
