You love to work with data intensive applications. Writing scalable, high-performance backend systems is your passion. You want to work with the latest technologies, are keen to learn new things and also share your knowledge with the team.
We are looking for a self-motivated Backend Engineer to join our small team, developing our flagship product Scypho Heat Control in our office in Stockholm, Sweden. This is a great opportunity to work with a young, ambitious and growing company. You will help us design our backend systems for reliability, performance and scalability so it meets our current and future requirements.
As a Backend Engineer you should have working experience with Scala or some other functional programming language (for example Haskell, Erlang, Clojure or similiar) as well as Javascript / Node.js. Being familiar with Apache Kafka, SQL / relational databases, AWS, and continuous deployment is a benefit but not necessary.
We mainly use English, therefore being fluent in written and spoken English is essential.

Requirements
• Background in Computer Science or relevant experience, equivalent to MSc
• Working experience in Scala or other functional programming language (Haskell, Erlang, Clojure etc.)
• Knowledge of Javascript and Node.js
• Familiarity with Apache Kafka is a benefit
• Familiarity with SQL and relational databases
• AWS and continuous deployment experience is a benefit
• Fluent in written and spoken English
• Active team player and eager to share your ideas
• Ability and willingness to constantly face new challenges and learn on the job
• Minimum of 6 years professional experience
