The position
As a Backend Developer with focus on integrations in the Content Engineering team at Nordic Entertainment Group you'll be focusing on developing the best tools to efficiently manage incoming content and prepare these for publication, working in the heartbeat of entertainment!

Our well versed and experienced Content Engineering team is responsible for the development of the internal platform for Viaplay and Viafree, providing ingest, metadata, asset and content management to the editorial teams and end consumer clients. You will play a crucial role in establishing publishing and ingest flows as a key part of our business. We work in an agile environment and use Jira, Confluence and Bitbucket (with Git) to support our needs.

The challenge ahead
We are a team working in the heart of media streaming, making our core business work flawless when it comes to delivering content to the end user. We work with a wide range of technologies, ea. Java, Python, Go, Node.js, etc., but we mainly work with Java 8 to Java 11. So if you are up for a challenge where you get to involve yourself a lot of cool and different tech, we've got what you are looking for!

We are right now in the midst of a large project with enabling scalable transcoding in the cloud as well as integrating toward an upcoming Media Asset Management system that supports the Interoperable Master Format (IMF). In practice it technically means enabling a hybrid cloud environment, writing dockerized micro services working not only on-premise (on OpenStack) but also in the cloud (on AWS). Here we see that you can come in and have a huge impact as well!

What we are looking for
You are a Backend Developer, probably having a couple of years of work-life experience, and are passionate about continuous improvement of workflows and quality-oriented practices. Your focus will be on building high performing components supporting our internal ingest workflows. Everyday work will include development as well as taking ownership of technical design, complexity assessment, test and deployment. You will develop engineering solutions that are aligned with technical- and product long-term visions.

Successful candidates meet the following requirements:

• Degree in computer science, computer engineering or similar with at least 3+ years professional experience.
• Solid experience in Java backend development.

• Experience in consuming and creating REST-based APIs.
