Your responsibilities

As a development engineer in the Maps and Localization team for Autonomous Transport Solution (ATS) Research, you will be responsible to research, develop, and evaluate sensor-based localization and mapping algorithms for autonomous driving prototypes. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to enable autonomous navigation through complex environments using techniques such as satellite navigation, SLAM, computer vision, visual geometry, and deep learning techniques among others.

You will work in tight collaboration with all the agile teams within ATS research, ensuring that the technical performance of the localization systems is optimized. You will work in a multicultural team, whose success factor is based on the build-measure-learn practice, enabled by a flexible platform that allows fast prototyping and testing of the latest autonomous driving concepts.

You will collaborate with universities and institutes to define and execute research and pre-development projects targeting TRL6. Our mission is to define and shape the next generation of high-precision positioning systems through value-driven research.

Your profile

You are analytical, result-oriented, self-driven, and face new challenges with a positive, can-do attitude. You are open and curious towards your teammates, and you enjoy supporting and contributing to the development with your technical expertise. Extra meritorious is

• 3+ years of experience in industry
• Solid knowledge of filtering, state estimation, optimization
• Previous experience with navigation systems
• Working experience in C++/python/ROS2
• Advanced degrees in applied physics, electrical engineering, robotics, computer science, machine learning, or related fields
• Hands-on experience with point-cloud data processing is a plus
• Previous working experience in the domain is a plus
