Quality and Customer Satisfaction (Q&CS) is a dedicated global team that challenges the Volvo Car Corporation organization to exceed customer expectation. One of the branches within the Q&CS family is Automotive Regulatory Compliance (ARC).
Within Regulatory Affairs (RA) we are responsible to monitor and impact the development of product related regulation and bring this knowledge to the company. Compliance with these requirements is a prerequisite for Volvo Car to be able to sell cars on a global market. Due to the increased use of connected services we're now expanding our field into wireless communications, such as frequency bands, Radar/Laser/Lidar/V2X etc. and relevant regulations.

In the position as an Automotive Regulatory Expert (ARE) you have a unique opportunity to get in touch with the latest technology within the company and connect with people working directly with it. Simultaneously, you will work with authorities and regulators worldwide who develop the regulatory landscape that our products will operate in.
What you'll do
Your responsibility will be within the field of wireless communications and relevant regulations. You will monitor the auto industry's technical requirements and the development needs of all functions related to areas such as traffic regulations, license requirements for pilot programs and similar subjects. You will be responsible to provide documentation and support on up-to-date legal requirements on applicable markets. Most important you will support the organization with interpretations of future and current regulations and requirements within the area of wireless communications.
You will collaborate closely with various areas within product development, responsible for that technology strategies and targets meats future regulations and requirements. You will establish our presence within this field and create relevant networks within the company as well as externally.
You will also work closely with Volvo Cars Governmental Affairs (GA) to understand and represent Volvo's established positions and strategies; you will be the subject matter expert. Further, you will have a close dialogue with Volvo's strategy- and marketing managers, as well as sales companies that are important for our knowledge collecting ability.
You will represent Volvo in national and international automotive rulemaking bodies and automotive industry trade organizations. Within this framework you be requested to travel.
Do you fit the profile?
We see that you understand and are interested in the automotive industry and thus Volvo Cars ability, as a highly technology-oriented company, to function in a given market. You will contribute to Volvo Cars being a key player in regards of infrastructure, different social needs and the reasoning around standards!
You are a strong leader with a clear customer focus. You have a M.Sc. or equivalent in electrical, IT & Software or similar. You have a background in the field of sensor systems, frequency bands or wireless communication and regulatory analysis. You are relations oriented and drive change and implementation through engagement, it is a benefit if you at the same time can create and maintain target orientation. You enjoy sharing and working within a team and set common goal with the team and management.
To fully succeed in the role, you have a holistic view, you possess the ability to quickly organize, manage people/information and distribute task to solve the issues that is in need of investigation. You have an analytical ability that contribute to you summarize, communicate, document and conclude information in an efficient way.
You are a very good communicator, fluent in English. Further, you possess good knowledge in all Microsoft Office applications and intranet/internet.
