Automation lead engineer
We are looking for an individual with varied controls and automation experience.
Potentially you want to take the next step in your career. In this role you will be planning, leading and executing the work in a small automation project team. The team can variate from only yourself up to 4 team members. You will be responsible for the group's deliverables towards the project in terms of quality and timing. You and your team will be responsible for our products functionality where you will work close together with the System engineer and the Design lead engineer to deliver projects according to specifications and with correct quality.
Background and Skills
To be successful in this role, we want you to have a clear drive and experience of product development. You will need to be comfortable with the ownership of your team's technology and the performed quality. You need to have a good understanding of technology and processes for efficient product development. Your background is from product development that includes software (PLC, HMI, Robotics etc) and mechatronics. You are used to work with international customers and work closely with internal stack holders and our external partners and suppliers. We are in the forefront of PLC, robotics and HMI programming and are using Beckhoff, ABB and COPA data as some of our system suppliers. Also sensors, servo motors and pneumatics are used to perform functions. It is therefore meritorious if you have experience in one or several of these technical areas.
Responsibilities
- In dialog with System engineer and Design lead engineer, act to secure quality accuracy
- Has technical responsibility to plan and perform the tasks needed to succeed with the project
- Is responsible for the quality of the individual automation functions and performance in the project
- Act as team leader for the automation engineers in the project team
- Be the technical expert in one or several areas within Graniten's automation technologies
- Execute tasks in projects
- Technical documentation
- Risk analysis
- Understand and interpret requirements
- Use Graniten's standards and best practice
- Maintain automation team best practice
- Responsible for interface documents
- Working directly with product development and client projects such as: - Coordinating on project requirements and establishing project automation scope
Personal qualification
- Minimum Bachelor's degree in engineering, Master's degree preferred
- Minimum 3 Years' experience within product development
- Demonstrated ability to work and lead with highly technical teams, manage multiple tasks and objectives
- Broad knowledge with automation technology
- Problem-solving and client service orientation
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written to communicate effectively with internal team members and external clients
- Team player who embraces responsibility and wants to be part of a winning team
