About us
As an Automation Engineer at Propulsion Systems Testing within the group Propulsion Testing, Systems & Methods, you will be responsible for both development, maintenance and implementation of new features and methods in our propulsion test cells. It will also be your responsibility in collaboration with others, to make architecturally sound software decisions aiding future development and maintenance of our software suite.
You will work in cross-functional teams together with other groups within R&D and the Laboratory.
What you will do
You will be responsible for implementing the software setup in test cell control systems and conduct problem solving investigations when required. You will be the expert regarding questions from users and plan and manage activities through a cross functional team to bring out new functionality.
* Plan and manage TAS (Test Automation System) activities through a cross functional team
* Participate in development and specification of test methods
* Develop and maintain a personal network within the testing community at Volvo Cars R&D
* Develop competence and contribute in testing methodology.
You and your skills
You are a team player with strong communications skills and a genuine interest in technology.
You are able to work independently and take required actions on own initiative.
You are a fast learner with an analytical and solution based mindset.
Your technical competence, as well as your ability to manage complexity in systems and collaboration with different teams should be strong so that you can make your own decisions and technical conclusions.
* M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or equal experience
* Knowledge in networks, protocols and control systems
* Prior experience from testing or similar work is meritorious
* Programming and interface design experience
* Knowledge of measuring systems
