The development within Active Safety and Driver Support has been one of the fastest growing units within Volvo R&D department for the last decade. Volvo is the leading car manufacturer within this area and we are consistently launching world first Driver Assistance & Active Safety features in our vehicles.



Active Safety department consist of over 300 engineers and is responsible for the development and verification of Active Safety and Vehicle Dynamics systems and functions. The department will also have a major role in the development of Autonomous Vehicles at Volvo.



The Active Safety Analysis & Verification section supports development and performs verification of active safety functions and systems by means of virtual (Computer Aided Engineering) or physical testing. Within the section, we are now recruiting Automation Engineers for the "Continuous Integration & Automation" group.



Active Safety Continuous Integration & Automation group is responsible for building up the Continuous Integration framework and automation of test rigs and test cases to maintain high software quality at all times. Active Safety department develops IntelliSafe innovations and Autonomous Drive. IntelliSafe includes functionalities such as Full auto brake with pedestrian detection, Adaptive cruise control and Pilot assist etc. The group also plays a vital role in the work towards fully autonomous driving vehicles. The ever-growing number of sensors and system complexity in the vehicle put higher demands on being able to continuously build knowledge and adapt. Continuous Integration and Automation will be one of the prerequisites in the organization to do so.

Main responsibilities


Establish and improve Continuous Integration chain for all Electronic Control Units and domain within Active Safety section
Drive automation of test rigs and test cases
Drive a high speed requirement test coverage
Develop methods & tools enabling world-leading performance



Required qualifications


M.Sc. within technical engineering or equivalent
At least few years of experience in Integration & Verification and Automation
Documented experience in SW development, SW testing, embedded software testing
Working experience within from telecom, automotive or defence industry
Good knowledge of C/C++ and at least two out of Java, Python and Simulink
Experience from agile development
Fluent in English, spoken and written
Driving license "B"



Meritorious requirements


Knowledge of Analysis & Verifications automation methods
Knowledge in Jenkins and other Continuous Integration tools
Knowledge in establishing and improving Continuous Integration chain
Experiences in testing of embedded ECU software in Hardware in Loop (HIL) rigs, as well as building and maintaining HIL rigs
