What you will do:
In this position you will play key project-integrator role in our multidisciplinary Facility Engineering Organization in building the new Gigafactory. As Automation Engineer - specialized in BMS you will pro-actively support and assist the Instrumentation & Control Engineering Lead along the way and contribute on successful delivery of the assigned BMS design package. You will have full ownership over portions of the BMS design development process with responsibilities to prepare, collect, review, register, distribute and manage wide variety of design documents. You will make sure that all project members are well connected and informed, by developing close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:

Provide technical direction, guidance, and expertise in the development and implementation of BMS Control System Design by creating functional specifications and control systems architecture. Possessing extensive knowledge of communication protocols, routing and layout, SIL levels, PLC, SCADA, network configuration, and logic development. Conduct code reviews and create test specifications/test scripts. Collaborate closely with vendors to ensure that deliverables meet project requirements

Collaborate with other disciplines, including Electrical and HVAC, to develop designs.

Produce detailed hardware and infrastructure design documents and drawings, such as control cabinets, I/O drawings, wiring designs, installation drawings, network diagrams, and cable schedules essential for BMS Control System design.

Review BMS Control Systems detail designs created by others, including the BMS Control System supplier.
Skills & Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science, Automation, Electrical Engineering, or other related field.
- Substantial experience in one or more of the following systems: SCADA, PLC programming, and installation. Experience with utility systems, particularly chilled water, hot water, and heating systems, would be advantageous.
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
- Technical proficiency in control systems, including familiarity with control panels, networking, panel/field wiring, and PLC control systems.
- BMS hardware and infrastructure experience, including network design.

Our state-of-the-art R&D facility will gather leading expertise from all over the world, to create the next generation battery cells.
