Automation Calibration Engineer

The group Engine Function testing, consists of 13 engineers responsible for 12 engine test beds that are mainly used for base calibration of performance, emissions and fuel economy. Tests of different hardware setups and new concepts are also among our daily tasks. In these test beds calibration programs are used for running automated tests according to DoE's (Design of Experiment)
We are now looking for an Automation Calibration Engineer with main responsibility to program and develop these tests.

As an Automation Calibration Engineer, you are responsible for designing and programming the automated test runs to comply to the DoE supplied by our internal customers. Your challenge is to develop, document and continuously refine these processes. You will work cross functional towards our own test bed engineers and other groups of our internal customers at R&D. Your technical competence, as well as your ability to understand complex connections between engine control parameters and engine behaviour, should be strong. Your mindset should be analytic and with an aim of finding solutions.

Main responsibilities

• To develop and program automated tests for our engine test beds
• To support test bed engineers and customers in testing
• To document methods developed during testing
• Together with customers analyze collected test data
• Continuous learning of new technology

Required qualifications

• M.Sc. in Electronics or Mechanical Engineering or equal experience
• Great knowledge in statistical analysis
• Great knowledge in design of experiments methodology
• Knowledge in Matlab, VBA and Tcl scripting is meritorious
• Experience in engine testing and/or engine development work is meritorious
• Fluent in English both written and spoken

Personal qualities

• Team player with strong communications skills
• A genuine interest of technology
• Able to work independently and take required actions on own initiative
• A fast learner with an analytical mind
