Our team is responsible for creating customer solutions by developing autonomous machines and site solutions which are about the most technically fascinating and inspiring areas in the industry at the moment!WELCOME TO THE TEAM!The Intelligent Machine Platforms department is a division of Automation and Connected Solutions at Volvo CE. We design the solutions of the future including teleoperated and autonomous machines for different construction equipment applications and segments. Our mission is to create safe automation solutions helping our customers reach sustainability and productivity goals. We also create apps on our own Android tablet called Co-Pilot in the purpose of coaching and assisting our machine operators to be more efficient and environmentally friendly. For instance, together with other colleagues at Volvo CE, the team just proved that we can lower carbon dioxide emissions by 98%, in the Electric Site project. We also just inaugurated our very own 5G test track for automation and teleoperation (one of the world's first), just outside our office building!This is a unique opportunity to join a fantastic team with a startup mentality working with truly disruptive technology while at the same time being a part of the world-renowned Volvo Group.ROLE DESCRIPTIONWe are currently looking to expand our automation team and we are eager to get to know an enthusiastic and devoted software developer. You are either junior or senior and you have experience in C++ and/or Python and you might even have worked in ROS. You are definitely up for almost any challenge and enjoy exciting and varied assignments - one day is rarely like any other. The main work tasks will be software development including coding in C++ and ROS, and testing the developed functionality. The tests will be done both in simulated environment as well as on real machines.You are an open and creative person with a can-do attitude. You are fluent in English, both written and spoken, and you either speak Swedish or you are eager to learn a new language. In any case, you love being part of a dynamic, diverse and fun team so you will fit right in!The role also includes participating in continuous improvement of our ways of working and you will be encouraged to dream big, dare to fail, innovate and always invest time in personal development.In our department we have an agile setup and we really support each other, so getting into our work is easy.
