Akzo Nobel Adhesives AB develops, produces, markets and distributes wood adhesives and resin systems for industrial use. Our mission is to increase the competitive strength of our customers by offering bonding operation efficiency at the leading edge of technology and environmental awareness. Akzo Nobel Adhesives AB is part of AkzoNobel's global Wood Coatings Strategic Marketing Unit, recognized as a leading global supplier of industrial custom-formulated coatings, finishes and wood adhesives.

Who are we?
We're a small, independent, award-winning team developing machines and systems for use in the wood industry, with in-house development of machine control systems as well as mechanical design. We develop completely new machine platforms, assist users in their deployment, and work together with chemical R&D to ensure a complete solution for our customers.

Who are you?
You're driven, analytical, results-oriented and structured. You should be comfortable with organizing your own work, as you'll be responsible for your own planning and making sure that each part of the solution you're developing meets our customer's requirements. You should have basic electrical and mechanical know-how, as you'll be required to troubleshoot and install sensors and other equipment on your own.

You hold a Master of Science or Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with specialization within Automation, Mechatronics, Electronics or similar. Preferably, you have some experience from working with automation for the process or manufacturing industry, with experience from the wood working industry considered a special advantage.

You must be experienced with PLC or machine/embedded programming in C, with software development in C# and a familiarity with SQL being an advantage.
You're a good communicator, both verbally and in writing, with a highly flexible customer focus. You're fluent in Swedish and English, additionally the ability to speak German is considered an advantage.

You enjoy traveling and working on the field, as the position requires travelling to customers for approximately 30-50 days/year to understand the customer needs for new machine solutions as well as to make prototype installations and trials.

What do we offer?
A work environment where you're free to grow, choosing your own way to approach a problem. A wide variety of tasks; everything from taking a machine from an idea all the way to full scale production use at a customer, making mobile apps, helping with our first forays into machine learning and of course competing in our weekly Lego building competition. A large amount of freedom with a high degree of responsibility.
