hela Sverige Starbreeze is looking for an Audio Programmer whose focus will be the research, development and maintenance of cross-platform audio systems and tools for the next generation of games consoles. This is an ideal opportunity for someone with a solid audio software background and a strong desire to apply this knowledge to the games industry.You will be working within the audio team and integrating closely with the sound designers and Audio Director on a daily basis.Modern console project experience is preferred (ideally on shipped titles), as is experience with a range of tools, technologies, and platforms for sound design and audio post-production, including Sony Vegas, Sound Forge, Waves.A background in music or understanding of musical structure and composition is not a must but would be beneficial.
SPECIFIC DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Design and implement new in-game audio systems
Develop the audio tools and pipeline
Work closely with the audio team to get music and effects into the game
Interface with the audio team to integrate low level audio features into the game on an ongoing basis
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Engineering, equivalent technical degree, or industry experience
Ability to work within a schedule
Creative agility
Ability to respond to feedback
Ability to work within an established code framework
At least two shipped AAA titles
At least one title for Xbox 360 and/or PS3
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Strong C/C++ programming skills
Solid software engineering skills
Comprehensive understanding of audio signal processing - mixing, sample rates, data compression, filters, reverbs, 3D positional audio, etc.
Strong math skills
Experience with DirectSound, Xbox360 or PS3 a huge asset
Experience with video game audio content creation
The position is availiable from and is full time on site at our studio in Uppsala, Sweden.
