She likes to go to school and is happy that she can read books on her own now. Furthermore, she likes biking, skiing, ice skating and swimming. Yannick starts his first year in preschool in August 2008. He loves to play with cars and likes pirates, wikings etc. They are both used to Au pairs as we already had four Swedish Au pair girls living in our family. (Adresses are available for references.)
We, Sabine and Lars, are both biochemists. We both speak German (without swiss dialect), English, French and a little Spanish. Lars is working full time and Sabine part time. We live in a house with garden in Reinach near Basel. Basel offers a wide range of culture and art, and possesses one of the most attractive and best-preserved old towns in Switzerland. Basel is nestled in the three countries of Germany, France and Switzerland. In Basel a good network of Au pairs from Scandinavia, USA and Canada exists. They regularly meet and spend their spare time together.
Description of tasks:
You should prepare lunch for the children and take care of them while Sabine is working. Grocery shopping and a little bit of light housekeeping (i.e. ironing) is also expected.
Description of qualifications:
Open minded, reliable person that likes children.
Basics in German are required, English would be an asset.
Driving licence is not required.
How does the aupair live:
You will have your own bedroom with a nice view, TV, DVD, CD, own telephone number and your own bath room. A bicycle is at your disposal.
The Au Pair is integrated in the family and can participate in indoor and outdoor activities if she wishes.
Working hours:
Max. 30 hours per week (Monday to Friday (1/2 day) plus babysitting from time to time).
