Dad, Magnus, is Swedish and 46 yrs old, and mum, Sarah, is English and 40 yrs. We both work full time, and all have very busy lives. Our little boy is just over two years old and is amazing. He is a lively and intelligent boy, who already speaks three languages and loves his books and bouncing! We live in a beautiful home just outside of Antibes, which is a lively seaside town, with a busy night life and lovely beaches. The house has a huge swimming pool and garden.
Description of tasks:
We have had an au pair before, and you can speak with her about us - think she will give us a good reference! Mia was with us 18 months. The primary job is the care of Caleb. Taking care of his food, bedroom, clothes etc. We have two big dogs and two cats - all are lovely and very 'soft', very much part of the family. There is also help with some housework, but we have a cleaning lady twice a week, so that is minimal.
Description of qualifications:
our new au pair will need to have a driving licence and speak excellent English, although she will speak Swedish with Caleb. We also need to have a girl who has good childcare experience, preferably having been an au pair before.
How does the aupair live:
Our au pair lives apart from us in her own studio, very independently and privately from us. Her weekends are her own, although there will be extra hours/babysitting at times.
Working hours:
approx 40 hours per week, but very flexible. We do spend some time away, when our au pair is left in charge of home and animals, but has that time to do as she wants during the days we are away. There will be times when the hours are longer.
Benefits apart from pocket money:
There are lots of opportunities to earn more pocket money: walking the dogs, babysitting, extra hours etc.
We provide a separate studio appartment and food
We have a car for our au pair to use, and give some petrol money.
There is also the use of a mobile phone, paid until 55 euros per month.
Other conditions:
We are looking for a commitment, as we don't want to have a string of girls in and out of Calebs life. Our au pair needs to be responsible, have a good work ethic, is self-motivated, be organized and fun! Caleb has to be one of the easiest children to be with, he is a total joy to be around, and we want a girl who loves to be with him.
Other information:
We would like our potential au pair to fly down to visit before, so that she can meet us all and see where she will be living.
