Main Responsibilities of the Department
The section Electrical Performance is organised under the department Electrical System Design in unit Vehicle Software & Electronics. The attribute area Electrical Performance is responsible for establishing requirements and verification methods, to ensure that Volvo Car Group products meet customer requirements in terms of electrical reliability, electrical safety and balanced electrical energy for the complete electrical system in the car. The scope for Electrical Performance covers requirements on complete vehicle level, through function and system level to component level. We are 20 employees within the group, including experienced attribute leaders as well as experts within electronics hardware.
As an Attribute Leader - Electrical Performance you will develop and secure electrical performance requirements, with focus on electrical hardware design, throughout the projects. The Electrical Performance group are the electrical hardware design competence centre team, considered as the automotive electrical hardware expert team at Volvo Car Group. You will be part of a team that secures electrical reliability, safety and energy requirements from complete vehicle, architecture level, down to component level throughout the organisation. Maybe you have worked as an electrical engineer designing HW systems or HW components and now being ready for the next step in supporting designers and being involved in the complete picture!
Who are you?
We seek those that are open minded with good communication and collaboration skills. You should like helping others by sharing experiences as you will support the organisation in electrical system and HW design, electrical assembly, HW verification, materials and failure modes to evaluate electrical designs and validation of supplier capabilities. You will be involved in projects to balance requirements and evaluate conflict of interests with other attribute areas to find the best solution for Volvo Car Group. We therefor see that you should have strong analytical capability, is structured and organized in daily work, have ability to take initiatives and able to cope with many topics in parallel.
Requirements:
BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
At least five years of experience from hardware development of electronics or designing electrical distribution systems
Skills in analytical tools (e.g. FMEA, Six Sigma)
Driving license B
Fluent in English, written and spoken
Solid knowledge of car technologies in general
Meritorious Experiences:
Experience from requirements development and leading design tasks
Automotive industry
Knowledge in applicable automotive standards and legal demands regarding electrical safety is meritorious

Location for this position is within Gothenburg, Sweden from where we expect you are able to work with adequate working permits. Working proficiency in the English language, speech and writing, is a requirement. Combined with the same skills in the Swedish language is considered a merit.
