Attribute Leader - Weight
As Attribute Leader for Weight you and your attribute team colleagues (Attribute Leaders, CAE-, test and design engineers) are overall responsible for achieving a correctly balanced vehicle performance, ensuring that the final product corresponds to the market and technical specifications as well as target user needs and expectations.
The general work method is to define, communicate, follow up and, if needed, balance requirements and guidelines related to weight.
Responsibilities and tasks
Project:
- Responsibility for managing the Weight attribute within platform projects.
- Set complete vehicle target based on relevant competitor benchmark
- Break down complete vehicle weight target to platform level targets.
- Communicate targets and request agreement from design areas
- Continuously follow up and collect weight status for each design areas
- Summarize all design areas status to a complete vehicle status based on platform and top hat contribution.
- Arrange weight reviews with each design area to find weight potentials.
- Support to design departments with guidance of design proposals, development of specifications, concept selections, supplier evaluations.
- Report overall timing, status, issues and solution proposals for the Weight attribute to project and in Design verification Reviews.
Process development:
- Drive the development in working with weight within CEVT.
- Develop and support the cooperation between CEVT and Geely Weight teams.
- Plan and support benchmark of new technology and competitor performance
- Develop quantifiable weight requirements and guidelines, for complete vehicle and system levels.
Requirements
- Master of Science (M.Sc) or similar experience from assignments within the working life.
- Detailed knowledge in automobile design and its components and content. Experience from weight performance development, execution and analyze of weight results.
- Knowledge of weight nomenclature such as Gross vehicle weight, Curb weight etc.
- Experience from working in Team Center and System Weaver.
- Experience from work in large Excel files, capability to create macros, pivot tables and statistic presentations in Excel.
- Experience from working in A2Mac or other Automotive Benchmark tools.
- Strong personal drive and motivation with ability to take initiative, plan and drive issues
- Analytic and problem solving mindset
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively with senior management and other organizations
- Fluent in English, spoken and written.
- Cultural awareness, especially Asian - European culture
