Would you like to lead the development and implementation of purchasing strategies in the RDT division? Are you interested in working globally and cross functionally with the purchasing departments and other functions in our production centers as well as strategic suppliers?
About the Role
Purchasing has previously been a local production center activity, but now we are in transition from a local to a strong global alignment and coordination of purchasing. We know that we can achieve substantial cost reductions by increasing the purchasing power through aggregation of total volume for a material category. The challenge ahead is to continue to drive this development towards lowest total cost and minimize the supply risk. In order to enable change and create new possibilities, we will cross functionally review and standardize the material specifications, challenge the established suppliers and manufacturing methods.
To help us meet our objectives, we now look for a strategic leader who is willing to take on the role as Global Category Manager. The mission is to take the lead and coordinate the division's activities within a defined material category.
The responsibility also incorporates;
• To lead category teams across production centers within purchasing and cross functionally with R&D, quality and other functions.
• To map the supplier landscape, evaluate supplier capabilities and select supplier candidates for future development.
• To develop and implement strategies for the material group with the target to lower cost and lead time with maintained or increased quality and performance.
• To lead and organize negotiations and follow up on the development.
The Global Category Manager reports to Vice President Purchasing and will be located at our head office in Fagersta, Sweden.
Our Candidate
We look for a professional individual who is/has;
• At least 3 years' experience of strategic purchasing, logistics or project management.
• A proven, result oriented leader with strong communication skills.
• Strong strategic and analytical skills.
• Structured with the ability to see the full picture of our business.
• Project management experience and skills.
• Training in the field of material engineering and/or work experience with the materials we use (preferable).
• A university degree in engineering, finance or logistics.
• Fluent in English and Swedish. Knowledge of other languages is a merit.
• Knowledge of the division's products and materials used (preferable).
