Atlas Copco Underground Rock Excavation (URE) has a large program of machines used in tunneling and underground mining operation, for example Drill Rigs, Bolting Rigs, Boomer Rigs, Utility Vehicles, Loaders and Mine Trucks. The machines are used all around the world, normally in very harsh environments with high demands on safety, reliability and productivity. They are available in various technology levels, from simple to fully automated with diesel and/or electric drive trains.
We are currently searching for a hydraulic engineer to join the hydraulic engineering group at drilling department - a part of the R&D Function at Underground Rock Excavation (URE) Örebro.
Job Description:
As a hydraulic engineer you will be involved in all phases of the design process of the Drill Rigs, from new development, customer orders, product modification and maintenance to testing at the test mine facilities or in field tests. Your main responsibilities are the hydraulic-, pneumatic- and water systems of the Drill Rigs. The work involves system design, calculations, bill of material, testing and documentation.
A part of the work will be focused on energy efficiency, cost reduction, part reduction and to optimize the hydraulic systems for electric/hybrid drives with respect to manufacturability, quality and serviceability. You will work in close cooperation with group members, groups and other departments within the company, e.g. production, marketing, strategic purchasing, service as well as sales companies. The CAD and PLM system we use are ProEngineer, Autocad and Teamcenter.

Personal skills and Knowledge:
You have a M.Sc. or B.Sc., preferably with specialization in hydraulics. Experience of working with hydraulic design, especially with mobile applications is considered as a merit.
English is our corporate language and is widely used, both in spoken and written form. It is therefore important that you have a good knowledge of English, both written and spoken form. The job requires a lot of collaboration both internally and externally so good interpersonal and communications skills are a prerequisite to do a good job. We expect you to have good analytic skills. An enterprising and goal oriented personality are desired since the work is conducted with a lot of freedom and responsibility.
