Our expertises are in field of Optical Engineering and Metrology.
We are looking for the right person to fill a part time open position as an astronomical instruments designer for our ongoing project.
Your role in our project
Our project?s goal is to develop a new spectrophotometer for mid-size optical astronomical telescopes (larger than two meters). At the moment we are looking for somebody to design optomechanical parts of our new spectrophotometer which is in the concept design phase. In the role of optomechanical designer, you will play an important role in our development project for midrange telescopes. Your responsibilities will include:
• Optimizing our existing concept design for more optical and mechanical stability.
• Final design for optical and optomechanical components.
• Image analysis software design, programming and maintenance.
LG-LAB is looking for?
We believe you have a genuine interest in optics, astronomy and physics. You should have a physics or astrophysics Master's degree or equivalent and good experience in optics design software e.g. Zmax, optomechanical components design and deep knowledge about astronomical telescopes, their instruments and observation.
We furthermore think you are a curious and result-oriented person that can work well on your own. You have very good communication skills in Swedish and English, both oral and in writing and because of our project, knowing Persian language for better and direct contact with our client is an important positive point.
In addition to the above, experience from the following areas is of interest:
• Photometers and spectrometers technology.
• Astronomical observation requirements and tools.
• Large Optical Telescopes structure.
