hela Sverige The main responsibility for R&D/Innovation is to contribute to the innovation process, comprising application, product and process development, within the Perstorp Group and also to support business in all types of customer relations. Application Development department has now opportunities for a Development Chemist in Polymer Material Technology, with high focus on plasticizer and bio plastic applications.
Perstorp develops several innovative polymer products. Our focused areas are plasticizers, polyurethane elastomers, biodegradable plastics and polymer additives. It is an exciting time with many interesting and challenging projects in the pipeline. Application Development is responsible for application development from the initial synthetic work needed up to a tested and verified product in the relevant application area.
As Associate Specialist in Polymer & Material Technology your main assignments will be
• To perform and manage development activities in the laboratory as polymer formulations, synthesis tasks, product testing and application verification
• To develop polymer testing methods
• To recommend new test equipment and supervise putting them in operation
• To participate in the development of economical viable application concepts for new and existing products
• To deliver polymer material application competence in development projects, for marketing and for customer support
• To actively follow the technological development in relevant fields and identify opportunities for innovative products, applications, processes etc.
The position requires that you have a positive and curious attitude to new challenges, good strategic and independent thinking as well as coordination ability. What we expect from you is an open-minded attitude and a collaborative way of working striving for knowledge sharing with your colleagues. Goal orientation is vital and communication and networking skills are keys for success.
We believe a technical higher education on minimum Masters level with high competence and extensive knowledge and experience in plastic formulations and Material Science applications is required. The successful applicant also has several years of documented experience in relevant areas preferably from industrial R&D work. Deeper knowledge in Perstorp s focused areas, plastic testing and compounding technology is highly appreciated. R&D is a project-oriented organization and project management experience is acknowledged. Good organic chemical knowledge is also an advantage. Spoken and written English is required.
