Titel: Associate Senior Lecturer in Health Science Statistics
Beskrivning av arbetsuppgifter: SPECIFIC SUBJECT DESCRIPTION: Health science statistics is an important part in the education programs and research of the Sahlgrenska academy. It is and expanding area of study, comprising for example methodology for longitudinal epidemiologic studies, register based studies and intervention studies, and is expected to be of great importance. JOB ASSIGNMENTS: An important part of the work is to independently conduct statistical and epidemiological analyses of large research projects. The greater part of the work involves analyzing epidemiological materials and working with central statistical analysis methods such as survival analysis, factor analysis, and mixed linear models. The projects will be in different subject areas. The work is done in the lively environment with several postdocs, researchers and doctoral students. There are great opportunities for independent work and professional development, moreover, there are also opportunities for good support and consultation with colleagues. The work also involves active participation in education and counseling in the field, to develop the research environment, research and method development, supervising graduate students, and participating in teaching at the undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate level.
Beskrivning av kvalifikationer: ELIGIBILITY: The qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. To be eligible for employment as an Associate Senior Lecturer the applicant must have a PhD degree in statistics or mathematic statistics or have attained equivalent scientific competence. Priority should be given to candidates who have been awarded a PhD degree or achieved equivalent scientific competence at the very latest seven years before the application deadline. ASSESSMENT: Regulations for the evaluation of qualifications for academic positions are given in Chapter 4, Section 3 - 4 of the Higher Education Ordinance. The first assessment criterion is scientific skills. The second assessment criterion is teaching skills. Experience in planning and participating in health science studies in Sweden and internationally is an advantage. The assessment also considers the proven ability to supervise doctoral students and to obtain external funding.
