Our R&D Materials and Processes department provides methods, resources and competence needed to develop, design and validate materials for cutting tools. As metal cutting tools are exposed to high temperatures, pressures and mechanical loads during machining, a protective thin ceramic coating deposited by Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) is often used in production. To an exciting and front-edge area, with a network spanning across the globe, we are now looking for an Associate R&D Engineer to join us in Västberga, Stockholm.
Key performance areas
In this role, you are responsible for managing knowledge and techniques used in the research and development of PVD-coatings. You support the organization with knowledge on methods and equipment regarding coating development, as well as evaluation and characterization of new coating materials. Sharing best-practice and contributing with your experience to ensure the delivery of new PVD platforms for ongoing and future product development projects is an important part of your assignment. Additionally, you collaborate with other research teams and universities to enable new and successful solutions.
Your profile
We are looking for someone with a Master's degree in Materials Science or Engineering Physics. Previous knowledge of hard PVD coatings and materials characterization is a merit. You are comfortable working with documentation in Windows OS. As we interact in an international setting, you are fluent in English, both verbal and written, while skills in Swedish and other languages are beneficial.
