THE JOB:
We are looking for two associate operational controllers for our team in Sweden with start date as soon as possible. We have one permanent position and one temporary position (maternity cover) which for the right person has the possibility to become a permanent hire.
As an associate operational controller your responsibility will be to manage the local controllership function and provide financial oversight on the local business under the guidance of the Operational Controller.
Your tasks will among others be to:
• Ensure adequate performance and reporting on the following by leveraging both onshore and offshore resources;US-GAAP accounting, accruals, and reconciliations; Financial closing and consolidation; Intercompany transactions
• Ensure compliance with all relevant global, regional or local policies, procedures and guidelines including account reconciliations
• Manage the statutory and tax accounting processes; liaise with external auditors and/or tax and statutory consultants
• Maintain the local statutory accounts and ensure ongoing compliance to local regulation for Sweden
• Produce support during the US GAAP closing process including on quarterly and year-end reporting packs in accordance with corporate requirements
• Manage statutory audits in conjunction with local external auditors together with Operational and Revenue Controllers
• Maintain internal controls and SOX documentation to ensure an effective control environment
• Manage all local internal audit and compliance review assignments
YOUR COMPETENCIES:
We are looking for experienced candidates with strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team. In more details we are looking for candidates that:
• Have a degree in Finance or Accounting.
• Have minimum five years relevant professional experience as finance controller in a medium to large international company.
• Work independently under limited supervision with good self-motivation.
• Have knowledge and experience with Swedish statutory requirements (Swedish GAAP, statutory financial statements, tax calculations, VAT returns).
• Have knowledge and experience with US GAAP or IFRS.
• Have experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) and solid IT-PC literate (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Are pro-active, flexible and collaborative with the ability to prioritize tasks.
• Have strong organizational skills and the ability to work well under time pressure.
• Are positive and engaging team player and able to work in a pro-active, supportive and collaborative manner.
• Have strong communication skills.
• Speak and write English and Swedish fluently (fluency in third European language is an advantage).
